Hiroshima

I agree with Akihiro Takahashi when he says that the atomic bomb on Hiroshima was not necessary.  There was definitely other ways to end the war.  There was no need for the US to drop an atomic bomb on an entire city.  They killed thousands of innocent people.  Even if the people on Hiroshima did not die initially from the bomb the radiation from it later on killed them.  The US could have found another way to end the war without the bomb.  An atomic bomb is also so much worse than a regular bomb.  It has lasting effects that kills people much later than when it is initially dropped which causes people to suffer much longer.   So many innocent men, women, and children were killed by this atomic bomb that did not need to be killed.  I think it is different if they just bomb the Japanese soldiers without harming the innocent people.  They are just bystanders of the war that did not want to be involved in it so they would be safe but the atomic bomb that the United States dropped destroyed the safety they wanted.  If a country did that to us we would be extremely angry at them, so why is it okay to do it to someone else?  It is not in any way okay to hurt innocent people especially children.  I feel like the United States just took the easy way out of the war, not only to stop the fighting but also to show the entire world how powerful and dominant that they are.
