Equality

The most defensible good is Equality.  Everyone should be considered equal.  No one is more important than anyone else.  If everyone was equal in well-being there would be much more good than bad.  No one would have to fight in order to achieve equality.  There would probably be no more war because everyone would have the same amount of things, so there would be nothing left to fight over.  Everyone would have an equal opportunity to become successful.  There would be no more poor people and no more rich people; everyone would just have the same amount of wealth.  Every child would have the same level of education.  No one’s child would get a better education than anyone else’s and they would all have an equal opportunity to become successful.  Everyone would have food, shelter and water and everything else they need to survive.  There would be no people living on the streets or starving.  This would make for a much happier overall world than we currently have now.  No one would have to worry about finances which would greatly decrease the amount of stress within everyone.  There would most likely be less crime because no one would have to steal just so they could feed themselves or their families.  Fewer drugs would probably be sold because no one would have to do it just to have enough money to make it through the week.  Everyone would be much happier in a completely equal world.  Life would be so much easier for most because they wouldn’t have to worry about whether their loved one is going to die in war, they wouldn’t have to worry about if they are making enough money for the week, or whether they will have a roof over their head at night when they go to bed.
